Holland Engineering, Inc. is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Group Manager to join our Southfield office. This leadership role provides a range of technical and professional development opportunities in support of mechanical and energy projects, offering an excellent path for career growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 8-10 years of experience. Prior group management experience preferred but not required. Must demonstrate willingness/desire and passion to successfully lead a group.
- Professional Engineering license required. PMP Certification is a plus. NCEES record preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to interact professionally with staff and clientele, strong work ethic with high attention to detail and efficient time management.
- Proficient knowledge and experience in design, construction, operation, maintenance and regulations associated with mechanical systems related to facilities; along with mechanical engineering and design experience of Energy projects including process related design, facility piping, material specification and selection, thermodynamics, pipe stress analysis and hydrotest requirements.
- Knowledge of CFR 49 Parts 192 and 195 and ASME/ANSI B31.4 and B31.8 codes and regulations is preferred, but ability to acquire knowledge on energy related codes and standards is acceptable.
- Proficiency using AutoCAD and MicroStation; along with HDD experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding and managing a team of mechanical engineers and designers, while ensuring the integrity of the overall design; and that projects stay on time, within budget, meet quality assurance standards and client satisfaction.
- Manage and direct all business and client development activities for the group and identify future opportunities with new and existing clients.
- Prepare, review, and provide engineering oversight and guidance for design calculations, develop specifications, and work with designers, while integrating internal and customer-specific CAD standards.
- You will take an active role supervising engineers, technicians, designers and other staff as required; provide detailed compliance reviews and optimization analysis for Energy station design; develop cost estimates, and conceptual designs for both proposed/existing pipeline & facility projects.
- Prepare project proposals, prepare schedules and assist in the development of project specifications and assist in the development, implementation and compliance of organizational processes and procedures.
- Project Administration, including billing review reports and invoicing. Experience in Deltek VantagePoint is a plus.
- Represent the firm at project meetings, attendance at pre-construction and construction meetings, as well as conducting client/site visits.
- Coordination and internal collaboration with engineers and staff from other disciplines on project requirements and other tasks required to deliver successful projects.
- This position may require 10% annual domestic travel.
