BRIEF
The housing market in the Grand Rapids area is strong, and demand for apartments located close to main attractions is high. We are pleased to have teamed up with Concept Design for the design of 601 Bond, an exciting new project currently under construction.
The project entails construction of a 16-story high-rise on the site of a former factory in northwest Grand Rapids, and will feature 202 market-rate apartments, 4,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a five-level parking garage.
Due to its size, the massive foundation required to support a building of this height, and the proximity of other structures, the project posed significant utility challenges. We led the efforts to obtain. We worked for two years to obtain the necessary permitting and approvals, including a Land Use Development Services permit from the City of Grand Rapids Development Center. Construction kicked off in August 2018.
The owner of 601 Bond is Time Equities and the general contractor is Pioneer Construction.
