Mechanical Project Engineer

Southfield Office Holland Engineering, Inc. (HEI) is currently searching for a hard-working, talented individual who wants to be part of our rapidly growing full-service project management, engineering, design, and consulting firm. With over 40 years of experience, we have a wide range of clients and projects. We provide engineering, project management, land surveying, environmental and field services throughout the energy, civil infrastructure, and government markets. Because of a growing client base, we are looking for a mid-level Project Engineer to fill an immediate, long term employment opportunity in our Mechanical Engineering Group. The Project Engineer will provide engineering support and design of a range of facility projects for our energy clients (calculations, design, specifications, etc.). The Project Engineer will take an active role in supervising and coordinating technicians, designers, other staff, and interfacing with clients as required. They will also complete detailed compliance reviews, quality assurance and optimization analysis for energy station design, develop cost estimates, and conceptual designs for both proposed/existing pipeline and facility projects. In addition, they will assist in the preparation of project scope and proposals, prepare and manage schedules to assure projects are on time and within budget, assist in the development of project specifications, deliverables and assist in the development, implementation, and compliance of organizational processes and procedures. Requirements To be successful in this role, Project Engineers will have proficient knowledge and experience in the design, construction, operation, maintenance and regulations associated with mechanical systems related to facilities; along with mechanical engineering and design experience of energy projects execution including process related design, facility piping, material specification and selection, thermodynamics, pipe stress analysis, and hydrotest requirements. Knowledge of CFR 49 Parts 192 and 195 and ASME/ANSI B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8 and various API codes and regulations are preferred, but the ability to acquire knowledge on energy-related codes and standards is acceptable. The ability to modify AutoCAD/MicroStation drawings, along with HDD experience, is a plus. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related degree with at least 5-8 years of engineering experience in the energy industry, particularly on pipeline-related facilities, is required. A Professional Engineering license is preferred, but not required, with the ability to secure a license in Michigan. Apply Online
