This year, Holland Engineering offered it’s annual $2,500 scholarship to Engineering students from Calvin College and Western Michigan University. We received many excellent applications, and it was tough to choose just one recipient.Holland Engineering is excited to announce the 2017 Engineering Scholarship winner, Ross Vander Meulen!
Ross is a Junior pursuing a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree at Calvin College. He demonstrated outstanding scholastic achievement and community service. The industries that interest him most include water resources and environmental, specifically wastewater and drinking water treatment processes.
“Overall, the end goal I have for using my college education is to enhance the lives of people through the work I do. The importance of environmental engineers in enhancing and protecting public health is an area that intrigues me. I also enjoy optimizing existing systems around sustainability and being environmentally friendly instead of always opting to build an entirely new system,” said Ross.
