BCPS Improvements

Holland Engineering, Inc. (HEI) has had the pleasure of working with TowerPinkster and Byron Center Public Schools (BCPS) to provide surveying and civil engineering services for various projects within the school district from 2017 to present.

The improvements included work at the high school, athletics complex, Nickels Intermediate School, New Intermediate School, administration building, Brown Elementary, Marshall Elementary, and the new K-4 school.

HEI services provided for these projects included surveying, feasibility work, civil engineering design, township review and approval, permitting from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Kent County Drain Commissioner’s office (KCDC) review and permitting, review and permitting from the Kent County Road Commission (KCRC), State of Michigan LARA BCC permitting, bidding coordination and review, construction engineering, and post-construction engineering services. Some construction engineering services included review of shop drawings, response to requests for information (RFIs) with the general contractor, site visits, and preparation of bulletins.

Project improvements varied from minor site improvements to existing parking facilities to major site improvements with building additions to the construction of brand-new school on a vacant site.
