BRIEF
The housing market in the Grand Rapids area is strong, and demand for apartments located close to main attractions is high. We are pleased to have teamed up with Concept Design on Heritage Place, located at 50 College Avenue SE.
This 86-unit apartment building, located in the beautiful Heritage Hills District of Grand Rapids, is a former Social Security Administration office and includes two historic carriage houses that serve as site amenities. Our team worked to obtain permitting and approvals, including from the Historic Preservation Commission, the Planning Commission, and the City of Grand Rapids. Construction was completed in summer 2018.
Project challenges included designing around existing site features, accommodating significant grade change across the site, designing barrier-free access routes, and stormwater management on a largely impervious site.
