Munson Healthcare-Manistee Hospital Facility Expansion

The Munson Healthcare–Manistee Hospital is a medical campus located on Parkdale Avenue (US-31) in Manistee Township. The owners sought to expand their facility by adding a new medical office building, renovating existing buildings, and improving parking and traffic circulation areas.

In 2017, we contracted with TowerPinkster to prepare site layout and civil engineering design. Our design team worked with hospital staff to develop a plan that would deliver the desired improvements. The limited space and significant grade change of the existing site posed challenges to the improvement plan.

Upon finalization of the site layout, HEI worked with the Michigan Department of Transportation to acquire approvals for two improved driveway entrances; acquired approvals from Manistee Township; and worked with the City of Manistee and the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians to obtain utility services to the proposed building.

We provided construction engineering services through the completion of construction in fall 2018.
