Staff Help Spread Holiday Cheer

Holland Engineering remains dedicated to looking for ways to give back to the communities where we live, work and play. The eagerness of our staff to participate along with their generosity has allowed us to expand our reach and offer additional involvement with several noteworthy charitable organizations.

For the fifth consecutive year Holland Engineering was a sponsor at DTE’s Annual “Nights of Warm Hearts” fundraiser. The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW) is an independent non-profit agency that provides low-income individuals and families with emergency energy assistance and advocates for long-term solutions to energy issues. Since 1985, THAW has provided more than $145 million in aid to more than 200,000 Michigan households who have found themselves in a temporary crisis. The Night of Warm Hearts Gala Event was held this past year on November 12th in Detroit, MI and is a signature event for THAW which will help hundreds of families in the community keep safe and warm this winter. For more information on THAW, please visit their website and www.thawfund.org.

Holland Engineering remains dedicated to supporting Kids’ Food Basket, a local non-profit organization that has really taken the initiative in addressing childhood hunger within our communities. Many of us probably don’t worry about if we will be getting dinner. Sadly, over 6,000 school-aged kids in the greater Grand Rapids and Muskegon area face that question each day! Kids’ Food Basket works with local schools to identify children in need and provide them with nutritionally balanced sack suppers as evening meals. In addition to sponsoring this great organization, staff members also got their own families involved this year by decorating brown paper bags for Kids’s Food Basket to use. What a fun way to put a personal touch on an organization we proudly support! For more information about this great organization, please visit their website at www.kidsfoodbasket.org.

Holland Engineering also once again participated as a “Toys for Tots” drop-off location this year. “Toys for Tots” is a charitable outreach of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and is a program to collect new, unwrapped toys during the Christmas season. The toys are distributed to less fortunate children throughout the community. HEI collected toys throughout the month of December and was happy to once again, overflow our donation box!
