BRIEF
Having outgrown its leased facility in western Michigan, industrial steel truss manufacturer Trigon Steel purchased property on Lincoln Avenue, on Holland’s south side, with plans to build a 29,660-square-foot facility with room for future expansion.
We worked with Trigon Steel to develop a conceptual layout of the site. After completing a survey and wetland delineation and acquiring the floodplain information for the site, we established a layout for the proposed facility and future development area.
The site layout drawings were reviewed and approved by the City of Holland. Due to the proximity to the Tulip City Regional Airport, the design team also coordinated with the airport designer and the FAA to acquire the necessary approvals.
Project challenges included designing the storm water management by the Tulip Inter-County Drain drainage requirements, acquiring a permit from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for wetland and floodplain disturbance, and preparing the proposed design and layout to allow for the ideal future development area.
We provided boundary/topographical surveying, lot combination, wetland delineation, civil engineering design, and construction staking. The facility was completed in spring 2018.
